In December 2010, Qatar won the right to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar2022, becoming the first country to receive this honor in the Arab world and the Middle East, after its file won the highest number of votes during the voting process. The Qatari file competed for the right to host the tournament with 4 other files submitted by the United States, Australia, South Korea, and Japan.

From the moment of its victory, the State of Qatar has been keen to exploit the opportunities inherent in the tournament to develop plans to ensure that fans and visitors have an exceptional experience, as well as to build a sustainable legacy for the State of Qatar, the Middle East, Asia, and the world at large.

For the first time in nearly a century, the World Cup finals will be held in winter instead of summer in the 2022 edition that will be played in Qatar, where the tournament will start on 21 November and continue until 18 December, and the reason for the change is due to very high temperatures in the Gulf in summer, where it averages 40 degrees in June and July, which will make its stay in this period completely inappropriate.

Great Economic Benefits Expected

Hosting the FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022 will make its financial revenues revive the country’s economy and raise the gross domestic product.

According to economists’ forecasts, the Qatar World Cup will be the most expensive in the entire World Cup history. Doha will spend $200 billion on developing infrastructure and stadiums in preparation for the global event, which will reflect on the high revenues that Qatar will reap, knowing that the spending costs are not only allocated to stadiums, but will also include highways, railways, ports, airports, hospitals, and the construction of luxury hotels and restaurants, which will double tourism revenues until before the tournament starts!

oreign direct investment in Qatar is also expected to rise before and after the World Championships.

Through effective management and good brand marketing, the World Cup will generate long-term commercial value for the brand in the State of Qatar, and work to grow the overall product for more than 25 years to come.

Regarding restaurants, hotels, tourist resorts, stadiums, and sports facilities, they will also have a major role in attracting tourists during the years following the organization of the World Cup and will constitute an important source of income for Qatar.

All You Need to Know about Qatar’s World Cup 2022 Stadiums

Fans of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be able to attend more than one match per day, given that the Qatar World Cup is the first World Cup tournament whose eight stadiums are so closely spaced.

To deal with the high temperatures during the summer, all stadiums, training facilities and fan zones are equipped with solar-powered cooling technology to keep the temperature at an average of 27 degrees Celsius. All stadiums will be environmentally friendly, and temperature controlled.

After the end of the World Cup, developing countries will be granted approximately 170 seats as support and encouragement from Qatar to advance the sports infrastructure of developing countries, and thus the establishment of about 22 new stadiums in those countries is one of the most important expectations that are commensurate with the local entertainment needs.
