The airlines will add flights from Dubai from 15th June to 16 more destinations- Bahrain, Manchester, Zurich, Vienna, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dublin, New York JFK, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Taipei, Hong Kong, Perth, and Brisbane.

Transit Flights by Etihad

Etihad too has resumed transit flights to 20 cities in Europe via Abu Dhabi. The airlines have removed any modification fees for flights booked before 30th June 2020, for travel to any city until 30th November 2020. Travelers traveling from Etihad can only carry 5 kg hand luggage, which has to be a handbag, backpack, or laptop bag.

Airport Lounges

Travelers should also note that airport lounges at Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi Airport for Emirates and Etihad are currently closed due to the coronavirus.

Transit Flights Airport Safety and Airline Measures

Emirates will be providing hygiene kits to all its travelers to reduce the risk of catching an infection. The complimentary kit provided at the check-in counter will include masks, hand sanitizers, antibacterial wipes, and gloves.

At Dubai Airport, protective barriers are placed at check-in counters. Transit passengers will have to go through thermal screening upon disembarkation.

At Abu Dhabi Airport, all travelers must wear masks and gloves at all times. People without a ticket cannot enter the airport terminal building. Travelers also have to go through polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing.
